How to Make Beef Pasties

  1. Heat the oven to 200°C / 390°F. Mix the beef, potatoes, swede, onion, salt and pepper.

  2. Cut the pastry into 6 circles 20 cm wide. Pile the filling down the middle, dot with the butter, wet the edge and fold over. Crimp firmly.

  3. Brush with the egg and cook for 20 minutes, then lower to 170°C and cook for 25 minutes.

  4. Rest for 10 minutes.
