How to Cook Chocolate Oat Bars

Heat the oven to 180°C / 355°F (160°C / 320°F fan) and line a 20 cm square tin. Mix the oats, flour, sugar, bicarbonate of soda and salt, then stir in the melted butter.

Press two thirds into the tin and bake for 10 minutes.

Scatter the chocolate over the hot base and spread when soft. Crumble the rest of the oat mix on top and press lightly.
