Method

Fill the kettle with fresh cold water and bring it to a boil.

Warm the mug with a splash of hot water from the kettle and pour it out.

Put the teabag in the mug and pour the freshly boiled water over it.

Leave to brew for 3 to 4 minutes, according to how strong you like it, pressing the bag against the side once.

Remove the teabag, add the milk and sugar if using, and stir.
