Heat the oven to 180°C / 350°F and line two trays with baking paper.

Mix both flours, the oatmeal, baking powder and salt in a bowl and rub in the butter until it looks like fine breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar.

Add the milk a tablespoon at a time and mix until the dough just comes together.

Roll out on a floured surface to 3 mm thick and cut into 6 cm rounds, re-rolling the trimmings.

Set the rounds on the trays and prick each several times with a fork.

Bake 12 to 15 minutes, until golden brown at the edges.
