-
Heat the oven to 180°C / 350°F (160°C / 320°F fan) and grease a 23 x 33 cm baking dish.
-
Without separating the rolls, slice the whole sheet in half horizontally with a serrated knife. Set the bottom half in the dish and spread it with 1 tbsp of the mustard.
-
Layer the ham and then the cheese over the bottom half and put the top half of the rolls back on.
-
Whisk the melted butter with the remaining mustard, the Worcestershire sauce, sugar, poppy seeds, onion granules and garlic granules. Spoon it over the tops of the rolls and brush it into an even layer.
-
Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for 10 minutes more, until the tops are golden and the cheese has melted.
-
Rest for 5 minutes, then cut into 12 sliders along the lines of the rolls and serve warm.
Small Things That Help
- Keep the rolls joined and slice them in one pass with a long serrated knife. It saves time, and it keeps the filling and the top in place.
- Cover the tray for the first half of baking. The foil keeps the tops from browning before the cheese in the middle has melted.
- Make the glaze while the oven heats and pour it on just before baking. Butter left on the rolls for hours makes the tops greasy and the bottoms soft.
