Air Fryer Quesadilla, Step by Step

Tap a step to highlight it, or turn on Cook Mode for large type and step-by-step focus.

  1. Heat the air fryer to 190°C / 375°F. Mix the chicken, pepper, spring onion and cumin.

  2. Lay a tortilla flat. Cover one half with half the cheese, half the chicken mixture, and top with more cheese. Fold over the other half.

  3. Brush both sides lightly with the olive oil.

  4. Air fry one quesadilla at a time for 8 minutes, turning once, until golden and the cheese has melted.

  5. Rest for 1 minute, cut into wedges and serve with salsa and soured cream.

Small Things That Help

  • Grate the cheese yourself for a smoother melt.
  • Do not overfill: a thin layer cooks through faster.
  • Use a small trivet on top if the tortilla lifts.

Ingredient Swaps

  • Out of spring onion? A small regular onion, finely sliced, or a few chives stirred in at the end both cover the job.

What Goes With Air Fryer Quesadilla

  • Guacamole
  • Salsa
  • Soured cream
  • Rice and beans

Leftovers and Storage

Best eaten fresh. Leftovers keep for 1 day and reheat in the air fryer for 3 minutes.
