-
Mix the honey, soy sauce, garlic and lemon juice in a small bowl.
-
Pat the salmon dry. Fry skin-side down in the oil over a medium-high heat for 5 minutes.
-
Turn, pour in the glaze and cook for 4 minutes, spooning it over the fish, until sticky.
-
Serve with the sauce from the pan and the spring onions.
Small Things That Help
- Pat the fish dry.
- Press the fillets down for the first 30 seconds.
- Watch the glaze closely, as honey burns fast.
- If the glaze thickens too much, add a splash of water.
Changing the Recipe
- Out of spring onions? A small regular onion, finely sliced, or a few chives stirred in at the end both cover the job.
- An eighth of a teaspoon of garlic powder per clove is the stand-in usually given when you are out of fresh garlic; it will not brown the same way, and it burns easily, so add it with the liquid.
What Goes With Honey Soy Salmon
- Steamed rice
- Broccoli
- Pak choi
- Cucumber salad
